Zanesville and surrounding area friends - we all want to help in this time of need. See below for a letter from Rev Deborah Bowsher:
Today I bring you good news!
(And yes, please share this with other churches in your area!)
Though we cannot come to our buildings to share in worship, we can still worship God by making sure we make good use of the gifts we have been given. And the session (church council) of Trinity United Presbyterian Church has taken action of faith that ensures the building entrusted to our care will be well used during these times.
On Tuesday morning the session unanimously agreed to open TUPC's building to the Red Cross so that they can have blood drives most weekdays here throughout this crisis.
The Red Cross representative told us that because so many schools are closed and businesses are not permitting non-employees inside their facilities, well over 240 drives across Ohio had been cancelled. This means they've lost the opportunity to receive over 6700 units of blood. And that was just as of last Friday!
Beginning this Monday (3/23), Wednesday, Thursday and Friday between 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. donors can come to 830 Military Rd. to provide this life critical substance for others.
To ensure safety for all, employees and donors will be pre-screened to make sure their temperatures are 99.5deg or below. All chairs and tables will be separated by at least 6 feet. All of them will also be disinfected between each use by donors.
A flier is attached that lists additional dates between now and early April.
Keep alert, stand firm in your faith, be courageous, be strong.
