The Music Ministry at Central Trinity United Methodist Church offers many opportunities for service through music. There are three choirs, a handbell ensemble, a Christmas band, a cantata orchestra, as well as providing solos and ensembles for our worship services and outreach programs. The Youth Ministry also offers a teen band. The Zanesville Civic Chorus rehearses at Central Trinity and presents Handel’s Messiah with orchestra each year.
Jim McLaughlin is Organist, accompanist and Director of Music. Jim is the Music Director for the Zanesville Civic Chorus and teaches organ, piano and voice lessons.
Ann Sims directs the Chancel Choir and Children’s Choir. Ann is also a music teacher in the Franklin Local School System and vocal soloist with the Zanesville Civic Chorus.
Andy Ruetz directs the Carillon Bells and Wesleyan Choir. Andy coordinates the Christmas Band and Cantata Orchestra. He is also the band director for the West Muskingum School System. He plays in the Zanesville Memorial Band and teaches trombone lessons.

The Chancel Choir is open to high school and adult singers. They sing in worship September through May with one Sunday off each month. They present a Christmas or Easter Cantata with orchestra each year. Rehearsals are Thursday evenings 7 to 8 p.m. and Sunday mornings before worship in the choir room.
The Wesleyan Choir is open to middle school and high school singers. They sing one Sunday each month in worship September through May. Rehearsals are Sunday mornings at 9:45 a.m. in the choir room.
Christmas Band and Cantata Orchestra
The Christmas Band performs at the 11:00 p.m. Christmas Eve Service. The rehearsal is scheduled the week before the service. All instrumentalists are invited to join and play. The Cantata Orchestra is created each year to match the needs for the Chancel Choir Cantata production. Rehearsals are scheduled in the month preceding the production.
